Hisar,The City of Steel 

Introduction 
Hisar is the administrative headquarters of Hisar district in the Northern state of Haryana. It is situated 164 kilometres northwest of Delhi on the National Highway NH 10. It is one of the important and fast growing urban centers of Haryana. It is also known as the steel city because of the Jindal Stainless Steel Factories. It also the largest producer of galvanized iron in India. The city is catering to the needs of not only the population of the district but also to the population of adjoining areas of Rajasthan and Punjab. People from Punjab and Rajasthan come here for medical treatment, for the purchase of good quality seeds, cows, buffaloes, bullocks and sheep etc. and also to get good education. It is quite popular for its Steel industry, textile industry and automobile industry. It is widely known as The City of Steel because of the presence of large number of steel industries in the area.

History
Hisar was the most important planned center of Ibrahim Lodi's kingdom when Babur attacked India in 1524-1526. During the British reign, the city was ruled by George Thomas in 1798. It continued up to 1801 when George Thomas was thrown out by the Sikh-Maratha-French confederacy. The city of Hisar was founded by a Muslim ruler, Firozshah Tughlaq in 1354 A.D. Hisar is an Arabic word which means Fort. The city, which we know today as Hisar,was originally called Hisar Firoza (also Hisar-e-Firoza) or in other words the Fort of Firoz.

Hisar is a Historical tourist destination in the Northern state of Haryana. It is well connected with the major cities of the country through air, rail and road. There are many tourist places in Hisar are Firoz Shah palace, Gujri Mahal, Town park, Devi Bhawan Mandir, Splash the fun park, Agroha Dham, Sheela Mata Temple and many more. These places exhibit beautiful architecture as well. All these places are of high religious importance among locals as well as tourists, and are therefore are visited by a large number of people.

Places To Visit 

Firoz Shah palace
Firoz Shah palace is one of the most popular tourist place in Hisar. It was built by Firoz Shah Tughlaq in 1354. It consists of strong structure bounded with underground chambers and a mosque. The place is situated close to the mosque and is considered to be the home of the ruins of the Harappan civilization.

Gujri Mahal
Gujri Mahal is one of the most famous monument in Hisar. It was built in the year of 1356 by Sultan Firoz Shah Tuglaq for his beloved Gujri, a native of Hisar, with whom he fell in love during the course of one of his hunting expeditions.

Devi Bhawan Mandir
Devi Bhawan Mandir is one of the most famous Hindu Temple in Hisar. It was built by Maharaja Amar Singh in 1770 when Hisar was under the Sikh rule and Constructed on the bank of the branch of the West Jamuna Canal. As the days went by, the importance of the Mandir increased considerably.

Lat Ki Masjid
Lat Ki Masjid is one of the most famous mosque in Hisar. The mosque is made in an L shape.It was founded by Feroze Shah Tughlaq which reveals a stupendous illustration of the marriage of various styles. It is a unique mosque which is famous for its lithic pillar and square chamber.

SPLASH The Fun Park
SPLASH is one of the most famous amusement park in Hisar. The park offers matchless excitement and promises a whole of fun time with water slides, simulated Rain Dances and Wave Pools.
