History 
The city of Lucknow was founded by Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula. According to popularly belief, Lucknow derives its name from Lakshman, younger brother of Lord Rama. Lakshman was ordered by Rama to establish town which today is popularly known as Lucknow. Lakshman Teela in current day Lucknow is believed to be the site of ancient city of Lakhanpur built by Lakshman.

Lucknow Zoo
Lucknow Zoo is a most popular tourist attraction in Lucknow. It is one of the largest zoo in Lucknow that has 348 birds, species, 57 reptiles, 97 wild animals and 447 mammals. Royal Bengal tigers, white tigers, lions, wolves, Hoolock gibbons, Himalayan black bears and Indian rhinoceros can also be seen.

Bara Imambara
Bara Imambara is one of the most famous tourist place in Lucknow. This place is also populary known as Bhool Bhulayia which was built in the year of 1784 by Asaf-ud-Daula. It contains a mosque, courtyards and gateways which look so good with such beautiful carvings and designs.

Moti Mahal
Moti Mahal is also one of the most famous tourist place in Lucknow. The mahal was built by Nawab Saadat Ali Khan in 1798 and is also situated on the banks of river Gomti. It is constructed as a citadel, the edifice served the purpose of birdwatching and also for watching enemy operations.

Juma Masjid
Juma Masjid is one of the most famous Mosque which is situated in the heart of the city of Lucknow. It was constructed in 1423 by Sultan Ahmed Shah entirely with yellow sandstone. The structure of mosque has a combination of Hindu and Muslim architectur and stands on 260 pillars that support 15 arched domes.

Chattar Manzil
Chattar Manzil is also a prominent place in Lucknow. It has derived its name from its umbrella-shaped dome and was built by the Nawabs of Lucknow, its construction has some elements of European architecture. The construction of the edifice commenced during the reign of the Nawab of Lucknow, Ghazi-ud-din Haider.
